Brenda also revealed the previously unknown name of their second son, who was born in 2022.
You know Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin — they’re two of Hollywood’s most recognizable former child stars.
But what you may have forgotten is that they’ve been a couple for years, got engaged in 2022, and also share two children.
Brenda and Macaulay both got their big breaks at a young age. She’s best known for playing the iconic London Tipton in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck from 2005 to 2011 on Disney Channel, while her partner, of course, portrayed Kevin McCallister in Home Alone and went on to become one of the most famous child actors of the 1990s.
But, despite being super famous as kids, the couple — who first met on the set of their movie Changeland in 2017 — have opted to keep their relationship pretty private, only occasionally talking about each other in interviews and sharing photos on social media.
And now, in a new interview with Bustle, Brenda has given some rare insight into their laid-back family life and explained why fans are unlikely to see much of their two sons.

For context, Macaulay and Brenda welcomed their eldest child, Dakota, in April 2021. And the following year saw the arrival of yet another baby boy, whose name — as she revealed for the first time in this interview — is Carson.

In December 2023, the couple made a rare public outing with their sons to celebrate Macaulay’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony. And while it was important for the kids to attend, Brenda explained that the event led them to prioritize their kids’ privacy going forward.

“That was such a special moment. We couldn’t have them miss that,” Brenda recalled, before adding that “Dak was so scared of all the cameras.” “That’s one of the reasons why we sort of keep them away [from the spotlight]. They did not understand what was happening.”

Recalling another experience at a soccer practice when her son was confused by people taking pictures of her, Brenda reflected on life in the public eye and the importance of consent, saying: “You could take pictures of me all day. I don’t care. But when it’s your kids, it’s different. They didn’t ask for this life.”
Despite this, she said that the boys still have super busy lives — even busier than their parents, it seems.

“Mack and I are both very antisocial,” she said. “Our kids have more of a social calendar than I will ever have.”
