At Vet, 220-Pound Great Dane Needs to Be Lifted Onto X-Ray Table—at 5 A.M.

A recent video of employees at a vet's office attempting to get a giant dog onto an X-ray table left social media viewers laughing.

The clip was posted by an emergency and critical care vet assistant, who is known on TikTok as @hachpoul. She shares videos that give people a glimpse into what happens during her job. Her December 12 video especially drew people's attention, bringing in over 5 million views and 773,600 likes as of Wednesday.

At hour 11 of her overnight shift, the 5 a.m. tiredness had kicked in, but work still needed to be done after the huge Great Dane came in and needed X-rays done. That normally wouldn't seem too daunting of a task, but the dog weighed 220 pounds. So she called for backup.

In the clip, she worked with several other vet employees in an attempt to get the gentle giant onto the X-ray table. On the count of three, they lifted with all their might, but the dog didn't move an inch.

The employees broke into laughter after trying their hardest, a sign of defeat that they wouldn't be able to lift the dog. But the job still needed to be done. It took the team "several tries" before it finally managed to get the dog onto the X-ray table.

Meanwhile, the dog looked around the room, confused at what they were trying to do. The camera captured him side-eyeing the employees, probably thinking their attempts at picking him up were embarrassing.

But don't worry: The caption informed viewers that "no horses were harmed."

Newsweek reached out to @hachpoul via TikTok for more information.

To be fair, he's much larger than the average size for this dog breed. Great Danes range from about 140 to 175 pounds for males, with females between 110 to 140 pounds.

'Extra Love'

The viral clip had viewers cracking up. They flooded the comments section by coming to the dog's defense, saying he's "just filled with extra love."

"He's all 'What y'all laughing at,'" commented one viewer.

A second wrote from the dog's perspective: "'I may be big, but I still have feelings' poor baby.'"

Another added: "He prolly thought this was the best hug ever."

Someone else pointed out: "The way all of you HEAVED and he didn't budge."
