A much-loved BBC presenter has left her role after 24 years with the broadcaster.
Jenny Hill updated her followers on social media to share the news she was stepping down after 24 years on the job. Jenny shared: "Personal update: I’m leaving the BBC today after 24 years. What a privilege it’s been to travel the world and tell people’s stories.
"Thanks to the many lovely colleagues whose talent, courage and friendship have made it such a pleasure."
Friends and fans flocked to the thread to share their support for the star, including BBC News analysis editor Ros Atkins, who typed: "We're going to miss you, Jenny. Best of luck."
Chief international correspondent Lyse Doucet added: "Such a distinctive broadcaster and kind colleague. So sorry to see you go Jenny."
One fan shared: "Thank-you Jenny for all your hard work. Hope the next chapter is awesome x," while another added: "The BBC will miss you @jennyhillBBC - you are a great journalist, much admired and liked by colleagues and the audience including those in Africa. It is a big loss to the organisation. Good luck in the future."
Jenny had successfully moved around a number of different regional slots in the BBC sphere and also worked on the breakfast team. Talking about her early morning role, she said: "It's a great team at Breakfast and while I don't think I'll ever get used to the early alarm calls, working here is always great fun."
However, she has also worked in international pastures after taking on the role of BBC's Berlin correspondent back in 2014. She has also covered war coverage recently in Ukraine and Israel's battle with Hamas.
Following her decision to leave the BBC, she has hinted on social media that she may be looking into staying in Germany. Though her handle still includes BBC, her bio now reads as: "Former BBC Foreign Correspondent. Planning new adventures from Berlin."
