3 hours ago 2

The Traitors has made a thrilling return to our screens with its third series, captivating audiences once again. The beloved BBC game show made its comeback on 1 January, with the iconic Claudia Winkleman steering the ship and a fresh batch of hopefuls vying for the lucrative cash prize.

Contestants are not only eyeing the jackpot but also have to tread carefully to avoid hefty penalties from the show's producers. Breaking a key BBC regulation could see The Traitors' stars slapped with a staggering fine, as disclosed by a past participant.

Jaz Singh, who graced the second series of The Traitors, spilled the beans that all contestants are required to ink a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), which strictly prohibits them from spilling any behind-the-scenes details prior to the broadcast.

Given that the programme is taped well in advance of its television debut, each contestant is privy to the entire season's outcome. Jaz warned that any leaks could result in being taken to court for "hundreds of thousands of pounds".

Speaking to The Sun, Jaz divulged: "You have to get a ton of stuff prepared, how you're going to deliver this information to various family members to keep this a secret, because you're under an NDA, and they will sue you for hundreds of thousands of pounds of TV damages if this gets leaked," reports Wales Online.

Ross Carson from The Traitors was over the moon after being picked to take part in the gripping BBC series, describing how mind-bending the selection process had been. "So it is such a tactful process, and then to get on eventually, it's mind-blowing. You are playing the game before you even enter that castle, before you even get a tap on the shoulder, before you put them blindfolds on, before Claudia says 'hello'," he exclaimed.
