BBC presenter Glenn Campbell, who's courageously fighting a brain tumour, recently finished a 5k Santa run and shared a heartwarming update with his followers on Instagram.
Alongside various snapshots from the event, the political editor expressed his experience: "Santa fun run 5k completed," he posted. "A lovely start to Christmas Eve, even if I was, er, last over the finish line. Loved being on the beach, with the waves lapping the shore and the Forth islands and North Berwick for a backdrop. Great support team @clazzagardner @lizzie_cowan Thank you. And great to see @atholl.duncan at the end. Merry Christmas."
He further endorsed a cause close to his heart: "If you see anyone over the festive period looking for a good cause to support, tell them how Brain Power is fundraising to help @brain_tumour_research open a new centre in Scotland. Link in bio," before signing off with gratitude.

A fan reminisced and sent Christmas cheers: "Well done, I hope everyone had a good run. We used to spend Christmas and New Year in Scotland, miss those days, Christmas greetings," while another voiced appreciation for Glenns efforts: "Have a very happy Christmas and thank you for you and your family done to raise awareness and funding of a new research facility in Scotland. Best wishes for 2025."
Another supporter praised his resilience, saying, "Well done Glenn! Another 5km completed. Doesn't matter how long it took." And yet another admirer wished him well: "Well done have a wonderful Christmas".
A fifth person chimed in with festive cheer and appreciation, saying: "Happy Christmas Glenn and Claire and well done to all who took part! And happy Christmas to Atholl and Emily."
At 48, the broadcaster faced a life-changing diagnosis of an incurable brain tumour mere weeks after a terrible bike accident hospitalised him in 2023. Not only did Glenn sustain 10 broken ribs and a bloodied face from the accident, but an MRI scan during his treatment incidentally exposed the cancer. Consequently, he had to endure tough surgery to remove most of the tumour from his brain.
In May this year, nearly around twelve months post-diagnosis, Glenn disclosed that he was pausing his medical treatments. Exhausted from the arduous cycle of therapy and needing to recuperate, he chose to take a break, as he explained to his followers.
Taking to Facebook, he shared insights into his health journey, confirming the effectiveness of his treatments so far. "I have stopped chemotherapy - at least for now. I completed half my course of six rounds," he stated.
The decision wasn't made because the treatment failed or finished its job prematurely; the real reason won't be clear until later in the year, according to Glenn.
The much-loved BBC personality revealed: "In the meantime, the medical thinking is to give my body a break and let it recover properly. My immune system was struggling a bit to bounce back between rounds. This is apparently quite common. Taking a break will keep further chemo as an option to return to in future, if required."
