The Cincinnati Bengals took down the Las Vegas Raiders over the weekend to give themselves their fourth win of the year. But moving forward, they will be without two crucial members to their offensive attack.
Running back Zack Moss will be out indefinitely due to a neck injury. Additionally, tight end Erick All Jr. suffered a torn ACL and will likely miss the remainder of the season.
NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the news on social media after Bengals head coach Zac Taylor provided the injury update.
Losing Moss for an extended period of time will hurt the Bengals' running game. He was signed over the offseason to replace Joe Mixon but hasn't been able to fully do so.
Throughout the year, he has put up 242 yards and two scores on the ground. Moss has also racked up 23 catches for 187 yards and one score through the air.
The hope is that he can return to the team soon as Cincinnati looks to make a last-ditch effort to get into the postseason. Luckily for the Bengals, backup Chase Brown has stepped up of late.
Against the Raiders, he posted 120 yards on the ground while also catching five passes for 37 yards and a touchdown. He provided a large spark for the Cincinnati offense and helped the Bengals get the home victory.
The second-year running back has stepped up this season and will be relied upon heavily down the stretch of the year. He has posted 479 yards and four touchdowns on the ground this year. Brown has also caught 21 passes for 98 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
As for All Jr., he has given the Bengals a minor spark in the passing game. He has picked up 20 receptions for 158 yards and no touchdowns.
The rookie tight end out of Iowa has shown some explosiveness when on the field so this injury is a massive detriment to the Bengals' overall depth. He was taken by Cincinnati in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft with pick No. 115.
Cincinnati will rely on veteran tight end Mike Gesicki to take on the brunt for the year. He had his breakout game with the Bengals against the Raiders, putting up five catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Alongside Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati has one of the more prolific offensive attacks in the league when they are clicking. They currently own a record of 4-5 for the year and are gearing up for a massive showdown with the division rival Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football this week.
