BEYONCE was allegedly the one who made the call to not skip the Mufasa premiere’s red carpet as she wanted to ‘stand by her man’ after claims made in a lawsuit filed against Jay-Z.
The power couple decided to make a statement last night as they put on a united front, along with daughter Blue Ivy, 12, and flashed big smiles at the Los Angeles red carpet for the Lion King spinoff film.
The Hollywood event was Blue’s big night as it marked her starring movie role debut voicing Kiara, the eldest daughter cub of King Simba and Queen Nala from the Lion King franchise.
Beyonce, 43, voices Nala in this film, as she did in the live-action remake that was released by Disney in 2019.
According to an insider, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Blue were “always planning” on attending the Mufasa premiere together despite the rapper being accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 in a Diddy lawsuit that was filed on Sunday - one day before the premiere.
“There was hesitation on the Disney side regarding the best way to handle it given the events from [the lawsuit].
“At the end of the day, it was Beyonce's call. They allowed her to decide how she thought was best to handle the situation, that's how much Disney trusts and values her.
"And the way she wanted to handle it was to smile, put on a united front standing by her man but also celebrate her daughter,” the source claimed.
“It was mentioned several times to 'keep the mood light' and try to make this Blue's moment.
"They were originally scheduled to do interviews on the carpet however, after the lawsuit was filed and came to light [on Sunday], it was quickly decided by both sides that there would be no interviews, only photos.
“People present were asked not to mention the allegations but unfortunately there were still things being yelled that they heard, you can't control that.
“Jay-Z and Beyonce kept smiling throughout anyone who heckled but Blue Ivy looked noticeably scared and honestly very sad - but braved through it to get photos of the family on the carpet."
The insider claimed that as of now, the plan is for the family to all attend the UK premiere of Mufasa in London on Wednesday, December 11.
However, there are “discussions of possible changes” and if anything, it would allegedly “be him not going” while Beyonce would still attend to support Blue.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé put on united front as they attend premiere with daughter Blue Ivy after rapper is accused of raping 13yo girl in shock Diddy lawsuit
"They wouldn't do interviews, they would just take photos like tonight,” the source added.
On Sunday, the New York billionaire, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was named in a bombshell lawsuit that alleges he took part in the sexual assault alongside former pal Sean "Diddy" Combs.
The civil suit accuses the rapper of pinning down a 13-year-old girl and raping her at an MTV VMA after-party in 2000.
Diddy - who remains behind bars over a separate sexual abuse lawsuit - is accused of watching on as the assault took place.
'BLACKMAIL ATTEMPT'
Jay-Z, 55, has publicly denied all of the allegations against him.
"My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a 'lawyer' named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.
"No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!
"These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?"
INEXPLICABLE DEGREES OF MALICE
Jay-Z
The music powerhouse continued in his statement: "My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.
"I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age.
"It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.
"My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world, who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit."
He concluded, claiming: "I'm a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don't play these types of games.
"We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable.
"I look forward to showing you just how different I am."
Beyonce has not publicly spoken out about her husband's lawsuit allegations.
