Bill Maher has some serious words for those criticizing his dating life.

The titular Real Time with Bill Maher host — Who was mostly recently linked to Al Pacino's 30-year-old ex — made an appearance on The Skinny Confidential's Him and Her podcast on Monday, October 21. During the episode, Maher told hosts Lauryn Evarts Bosstick, 38 and Michael Bosstick, 37 that while he's not currently in a relationship, he does have a type: younger women.

He said he believed that women are attracted to him due to his "unavailability" and that he finds himself dating younger women.

"Nothing that I could have predicted when I was your age came to pass," Maher said. "Like, I would never have imagined that at this age, anyone – and again, like I'll say this just generally – my dating is not age-appropriate."

Though Maher and Pacino's ex Noor Alfallah were recently rumored to be dating after being spotted leaving the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, she denied the rumors to TMZ on Thursday, October 17. Maher, for his part, did not explicitly mention Alfallah — who is the mother of the 84-year-old Godfather star's 1-year-old son, Noah — nor did he comment on the nature of their relationship during his appearance on the podcast.

Later during the podcast, the hosts asked Maher if he believes that his dating preferences could be perceived in an "unorthodox context." Maher said regardless of how people view his relationships, he does what works for him

"Not just perceived, they literally are," Maher said. "The people who are pissed off at that, f**k you. You do you, I do me. You do what works for you."

Toward the end of the podcast, Maher shared that the reason he's never been married is simply because he doesn't believe in marriage.

"It would ruin everything," Maher said. "I mean, I'm not going to. I love to talk about this subject, but it's tough because I also don't really ever want to divulge the details of my own personal life."
