Podcaster 'Disappearing' After Matthew Livelsberger Alleged Manifesto Shown

Podcaster Shawn Ryan of The Shawn Ryan Show on YouTube announced that he would be disappearing for a "few days" before he published a new episode about the Tesla Cybertruck bomber's alleged "manifesto."

Why It Matters

Matthew Livelsberger drove a Cybertruck up to the front of a hotel owned by President-elect Donald Trump in Las Vegas and then detonated it, authorities said. He appeared to fatally shoot himself before the truck exploded, according to the Denver Gazette.

Investigators have worked to establish a motive for the attack, but Ryan has potentially added a major development to that hunt thanks to a break from Sam Shoemate, an intelligence analyst, who said he received an email from Livelsberger with his alleged manifesto.

Newsweek reached out to Ryan's producer through social media on Friday afternoon for comment.

What To Know

The Shawn Ryan Show has nearly 3.6 million subscribers on YouTube, with a catalog of over 1,000 videos that have been posted since February 2017. Ryan is a former Navy SEAL, former CIA contractor, special operations outreach and CNBC contributor.

At 2:57 p.m. ET Friday, Ryan posted a warning that he would be "disappearing for a few days" with his family, citing concerns about the "mind boggling" revelations that would be in his newest episode, which released just minutes later on Spotify.

"My family and I are disappearing for a few days," Ryan wrote. "My account will be active but it will not be me behind the wheel. What we are about to release is mind boggling and will raise a lot of questions."

Half an hour after the release of the episode, Ryan's account posted a screenshot of the email Shoemate received from the sender, who claimed to be Livelsberger. The email details two major claims.

First, the email said the drones that appeared over New Jersey were of Chinese origin and used "gravitic propulsion systems" that are "the most dangerous threat to national security that has ever existed."

Second, the email detailed alleged war crimes, such as an airstrike in the Afghanistan province of Nimruz in 2019 that Livelsberger claims he helped cover up.

Ryan and Shoemate repeated during the show that they have not been able to verify any of the claims that the email raised, but they would work to do so.

Far-right political activist Laura Loomer responded to Ryan's post with what she claimed was proof of Livelsberger owning a specific car—a Ford Mustang that he said he owned since 2006—which some social media users have taken as proof of identify for the email.

What People Are Saying

Shoemate wrote on X: "It's been a long day, and this post is infinitely less humorous in light of today's events. I reached out to the FBI this morning and forwarded the contents of this email to them. I'll discuss this in depth tomorrow," referring to the Shawn Ryan Show episode.

Just before the episode aired, he wrote another post, saying: "I knew taking this public would insert me into the "glowy boi" conspiracy cycle, especially since I'm an intelligence officer. I had no choice. Dude dumped it in my inbox."

"When I saw his name in the news, I had little choice but to hand it over to the feds. I knew the FBI wouldn't release it, or at least without an agenda attached, so I took it to Shawn Ryan because he has the platform to handle the magnitude of this information and will do so as objectively as possible."

What Happens Next

The FBI will continue to examine the evidence to determine whether the manifesto is legitimately tied to Livelsberger.

Ryan will return from his hiding after people have had time to digest the information revealed in his most recent episode, though it remains unknown if he will address what happened in his next episode.
