While social media may be part and parcel of our everyday lives and connections, it's true that you never know what is going on with anyone behind the scenes and behind the screen.
Influencer and makeup artist Bonnie Ryan has opened up about how 2024 was “one of the hardest years of my life” in a candid new post.
The social media star and daughter of the late Gerry Ryan said that while she tried to be as positive as she can, this year "truly kicked me up the ass" and that “some days getting out of bed was a massive win."

It has been a very busy year for the content creator, as she moved to the US and also dealt with the death of her pet.
Posting to Instagram, she shared some snapshots of the more difficult moments she has experience this year, and wrote that while times have been tough, she is pulling through it.
She wrote: “Just to show life is an ebb and flow. Just because one chapter is bad doesn't mean the others can't be amazing."
“And for all the shiny moments we see, we are all going through moments a little less shiny too."
“I would say 2024 was maybe one of the hardest years of my life. Some days getting out of bed was a massive win. I always try to be as positive as I can be, but this year truly kicked me up the ass.”
She shared that her husband John Greenhalgh is “really the only person who knows what I've been through” and added her gratitude for his ongoing support.
“But I know I'm also beyond lucky for the life I'm getting to live. I will always find the positive no matter what."
“2025 will be a year of ups and downs for everyone, of course, but I'm going into [it] excited and determined. Be kind, work hard, enjoy the little things and remember life is fragile and you need to be present.'
“Everyone has their battles so give people grace. And if you're going through something I'm sending you love. May 2025 be your year.”
Last year, Bonnie shared that she as keen to pursue career opportunities Stateside while also maintaining her busy work schedule in Dublin as she and her husband prepared to explore the US.
"I am kind of a little bit split between two right at the moment," Bonnie said at the time.
"So I'm a little bit in Ireland, a little bit in America, which, I'm not going to lie, is glorious."
She added to VIP Magazine: "It's very nice to go outside [in America] and there are blue skies, but I've been home for quite a while now."
