Bow Wow has some doubts about Travis Hunter’s relationship.
On Thursday, December 19, the rapper/actor took to social media to offer a bit of advice for the Colorado Buffaloes star. The 37-year-old rapper said he typically doesn’t get involved in “other people’s business” but claimed he has seen some concerning things involving Hunter’s fiancée, Leanna Lenee.
“I’ve been watching from afar,” Bow Wow began. “I was once young, about to make a lot of money, and I know how this shit go. So I need you to hear me out. No. 1: I don’t want you feeling as though everybody’s jumping down your back or cats is hating. That’s that young n***a mentality. I want you to look at this like n***as care about you.”
Bow Wow reminded Hunter that he was about to get a rare opportunity to play in the NFL and receive “the biggest check in [his] life.” However, he questioned if the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner had made the wrong decision by proposing to Lenee.
“All we are doing is waking you up, young brother,” he continued. “Because if you don’t see what the fuck is going on, gang… If we don’t give a fuck, we’d let you crash out, but from one player to the next… I’m not gonna tell you what you do but I want you to open up your eyes, man.”
Bow Wow pointed to a circulating screenshot purportedly showing Lenee’s flirtatious comment on Anthony Edwards’ Instagram page. The image turned out to be a fake and was originally shared by infamous parody account on X, @TheNBACentel.
“There’s no reason why she’s commenting on another n***a’s page… with heart eyes and the motherfucking money tongue out,” Bow Wow said of the fake interaction. “That’s your fiancée. Wake up, young brother. Fiancées don’t move like that… It’s like you’re so caught up in being in love. I don’t think this woman even loves you like that. You gotta watch the signs.”
Bow Wow also referenced Lenee’s recent TikTok, in which she explained that Hunter wasn’t initially her “type.” She later clarified that the comment had nothing to do with physical attractiveness but was more about his character. Lenee claimed she had ignored Hunter’s DMs for about two months because he had a girlfriend at the time. However, it appears Bow Wow never heard that explanation.
“This woman said you weren’t even her type,” he said in the video. “So what the fuck is keeping you here? You’re young, though, but you gotta ask some questions…. I want you to live your life. You’re young, man. Do you know how much women are about to be thrown your way? You’re the Heisman Trophy award winner. Can’t no n***a give you advice better than me… I’m telling you from firsthand experience. Brother, there’s about to be so many women about to throw that thang your way, you won’t be able to turn it down.”
Bow Wow then urged Hunter to “snatch that ring back” and “get focused on what’s important.”
“It’s hard to build your shit when you got a broad with you,” he continued. “Bro, you in the media more for the broad than you is for winning the Heisman….Wake up.”
In other news, Hunter recently donated his NIL endorsement earnings to his Buffaloes teammates. Following news of his charitable ways, the young football star earned praise from Deion Sanders Jr. on the Zero 2 Sixty podcast earlier this week.
