NSYNC isn’t saying “Bye, Bye, Bye” this time.

Key members of boy bands are opening up in the Paramount+ documentary Larger Than Life: Reign of the Boybands, which is set to premiere Nov. 12.

The documentary, from director Tamra Davis (Crossroads, Billy Madison), highlights boy bands and their rise — and fall — to fame, from The Beatles to Jackson 5 to the Jonas Brothers and One Direction, as well as the K-pop group Seventeen. Larger Than Life will show the perspective of what it was like to be a member of a boy band during their prime.

The trailer opens with Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block saying, “I love boy bands. I’m proud to be in a boy band.”

Larger Than Life also includes commentary from AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC and Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees, who all reflect on their impact and experience of being in groups. Acclaimed music manager Johnny Wright, who managed Menudo, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, will also share his insights.

Lachey admits that 98 Degrees “took notice” in where they were on the countdown on TRL every day. He also hints at the difficulties they faced saying, “When you’re in a boy band, you go through really, really hard times.”

The documentary is also an ode to the loyal fans that follow boy bands. “One Direction fans are like the CIA,” says one fan of the group in the trailer. “We had eyes on them.”

McLean acknowledged how crucial the fans of boy bands are to their careers: “We would not be who we are without the fans.”

Larger Than Life is produced by Wright and Van Toffler for Gunpowder & Sky. Barry Barclay, Floris Bauer and Joanna Zwickel for Gunpowder & Sky and Bruce Gillmer, Vanessa WhiteWolf and Michael Maniaci for MTV Entertainment Studios are executive producers.
