The Boyzone break-up is still causing the bandmates pain and anger, according to claims.

The band were once the biggest boy group in the UK and Ireland as they hit their peak in the 90s. However, after a bitter break, the outfit's "scars still run deep" says a source.

Together on stage, Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham were formidable. However, behind the scenes, there was said to be turmoil. It's claimed Ronan's ideas of a solo career as the band continued their rapid rise to success had caused feuding within the group.

A source said that Ronan was "desperate"to be Bono after ditching the group. Manager of Boyzone, Louis Walsh, took on the role of Ronan's manager following his decision to go solo in 1999.

But the break-up is said to have left the other members still cross about it to this day. An insider told the Mail: "The scars are still there, the hurt ran very, very deep. They are still all so cross about it all. All of these years and there is so much bad blood ... they have moved on but forgiveness has been almost impossible."

And while there are allegedly tense feelings within the former group, it's thought their feelings towards Louis are in unison. They are said to "despise" their former manager, with Mail claiming only the late Stephen Gately, who died in 2009, had remained on speaking terms with the former X Factor judge.

The claims come as a new explosive documentary is set to air on the band and their relationship with Louis. Boyzone: No Matter What will air on Sky next month and follows the boyband during the peak of their popularity.

The documentary tells the story of the second most successful boyband in Britain - only behind Take That - and will feature exclusive interviews, backstage footage and discover the sudden death of Stephen Gately.

A synopsis for the documentary states: "They were one of the most successful and iconic boybands of all time but behind-the-scenes, conflict and rivalry, betrayal and tragedy led to their falling apart. Now, thirty years on, all four remaining members - Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Michael 'Mikey' Graham, as well as their estranged manager, Louis Walsh reveal the truth of what really happened, the extraordinary highs of their meteoric rise to fame, and the huge costs that being in a boyband had on each of them".

In addition to the four Dublin lads, Louis will also be sharing his perspective on Boyzone's success and their intense media coverage and scrutiny in the three-part series.
