Britney Spears' ex-husband, Sam Asghari, is beginning the new year with a new romance.
On Wednesday, January 1, the 30-year-old model made his relationship with LA-based real estate agent Brooke Irvine Instagram official, posting a carousel with five photos of them in a tropical destination. Asghari and the 43-year-old pop princess finalized their divorce in May, and Spears was declared legally single just last month.
In the cover shot, Asghari and Irvine gaze into each other's eyes in front of a lush green background with palm trees. In the second picture, the couple don swimsuits and lay on a palm tree overlooking the ocean. In the third snap, the duo appears to be at a concert wearing coordinating black outfits. The fourth photo features Asghari's arm around Irvine as they sit in an open-air vehicle. Asghari also included a mirror selfie with his sweetheart.
The actor captioned his post, "Happy New Year to All 🫶."
Fans took to the comment section to express their happiness for the new couple.
"Happy New Year and congratulations on new beginnings🍾🥂❤️," a fan commented.
A second individual wrote, "yay!!!!!! happiness looks good on you 😍."
However, some fans felt like Asghari rebounded too quickly, accusing him of using his relationship with Spears for fame.
"It's sad that you never loved Britney (( just wanted to become famous because of her🙌," one person wrote.
"Nobody knew who this fool was until he got with Britney 😂😂😂," someone else commented.
In 2016, the "Gimme More" singer and the fitness trainer met on the set of her music video for her song "Slumber." Asghari proposed to Spears in September 2021, two months before her father, Jamie Spears' 13-year conservatorship over her ended. The pair officially tied the knot in June 2022 at her home in Malibu, California.
The "Oops!... I Did it Again" singer was previously married to Kevin Federline from 2004 until their divorce in 2007. The former couple share two sons, Jayden Federline, 18, and Sean Federline, 19.
