Bronwyn Newport Says Husband Todd Bradley Made ‘Big Changes’ After RHOSLC Drama

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers are not quite sure what to make of Todd Bradley. He stayed out of the drama on Season 5. Then the chaotic trip to Palm Springs occurred. His demeanor towards the cast bickering was brusque. Bronwyn Newport found herself adjusting to the new experience and explaining her husband’s mannerisms to co-stars.

Viewers are also divided by the conversation between Todd and Bronwyn upon returning to Salt Lake City. He told the RHOSLC newbie that she had “ruined a perfectly nice afternoon” by engaging with Lisa Barlow.

Bronwyn Newport explained Todd Bradley’s “blunt” communication style

On the RHOSLC After Show, Bronwyn shared that the difficult conversation basically resulted in changes in the household.

“We had a come-to-Todd moment, where he really is hard on me about stooping to the level he thought other people were at,” the fashionista explained. “Blunt [communication] is not always great in a sensitive situation. He’s had to learn different communication strategies and techniques, and I’ve also had to learn that Todd and I are very different people. We speak differently, we interact differently, we like different things”.

Bronwyn added, “But Todd loves me as much as Todd can love somebody, so I see it now through a lens of — when it’s heavy-handed or hard or not the way I would handle it — that’s Todd doing his best. And that’s good enough, always. But he has really made big changes.”

Some viewers further suggested that Todd was simply using his work voice at home. And Bronwyn seemed to agree that he addresses people in social situations the same way he would a work contact.

“Gwen and I, we are not business associates,” she said, smiling. “We are not a portfolio company. We are not his administrative assistants. He has to speak to us in a non-business way.”

Todd was “surprised” by how “low” the RHOSLC ladies go

Certainly, being at the top of his game in a highly competitive industry could rub off on a person. Bronwyn sat with Whitney Rose for the After Show and revealed Todd acts differently with her off-camera.

“He’s very serious, he’s very cutthroat, he’s all business. But he’s not like that with me, so I don’t know why Todd is so surprised that I am nice and pleasant to him, and funny and kind of cutthroat and all business and no bullsh-t with you ladies,” she shared.

Bronwyn continued, “I think Todd’s very surprised by the depth of how low we go with each other and the things that are said, and how we seem to rebound, or not.”

Whitney also acknowledged that “trips are always the worst,” and perhaps not the best situation to meet the group.

“He is a teddy bear,” Bronwyn said. “You have to make him feel comfortable enough to be that person. But I also like when he will go tell John [Barlow]. ‘No, this nonsense has got to stop.’ We like tough Todd, too.”
