Boy, did ARMYs miss you, Jin and J-Hope. The BTS boys reunited following both of their discharges from the South Korean military this year, and created a hilarious TikTok to promote Jin’s new single, “Running Wild.”
The TikTok, posted on BTS’ TikTok account on Friday, November 15, dropped the same day as Jin’s single, which he’ll be debuting live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next week. The video includes several shots of the two K-pop artists running in place, wearing stoic expressions.
This marks one of the first reunions of Jin and J-Hope since they were discharged from the military, and fans couldn’t quite get over the reunion in the comments. One wrote, “STOP IT I MISSED BTS DANCE CHALLENGES SO MUCHHH,” while another posted: “Missed their millennial tiktoks.”
ICYMI, all of the other members are currently in active military duty, as it is mandatory for all able-bodied men born in South Korea to complete 18 months of military service before turning 28 years old. It was quite the topic of debate whether BTS would be enlisting, and the South Korean government even sent out a poll asking citizens what they should do in the matter. Nevertheless, BTS took matter into their own hands and revealed their plans to enlist in 2022.

“Since the creation of BTS over ten years ago, the band has risen to international success, broken records, and catapulted K-Pop into the global stratosphere,” Big Hit’s statement reads. “BIGHIT MUSIC has focused to the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that’s now.”
The first member of BTS to be discharged from the army was Jin in June 2024, as he was the first member to enlist back in December 2022. For his discharge, he received a heartwarming reunion with the members of BTS (RM literally brought out a saxophone) and then held a fan-service event where he hugged 1,000 BTS fans. J-Hope’s return in October 2024 was a bit more low-key.
In fact, BigHit music, BTS’s agency, discouraged fans from visiting the location where he will be discharged.
“No special events are planned on the day of J-Hope’s discharge. To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site,” it said in a statement. “We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for j-hope. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists.”
Following J-Hope, five BTS members are still set to be discharged, including Suga, Jimin, Jung Kook and RM.
