The declaration by DeSantis details the highlights of Evans' career on the Buccaneers, which began in 2014 and has gone at light speed on the stat sheets ever since.

Mike Evans tied legendary receiver Jerry Rice's record for most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons last week, officially stringing together 11 campaigns hitting that mark.

By securing his 11th such season, Evans surpassed Randy Moss, breaking their tie for second place. He already holds the record for the most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to begin a career, nearly doubling the previous record of six set by Moss from 1998 to 2003.

After amassing 1,255 yards in 2023 for his 10th consecutive 1,000-yard season, Evans faced a tougher challenge this year due to a hamstring injury that sidelined him for three games and most of a fourth.

When he returned in Week 12, he needed 665 yards over the final seven games to hit the milestone again. Rising to the occasion, Evans averaged 96.7 yards per game over six weeks, highlighted by a 159-yard performance against the Chargers and 118 yards against the Panthers.

He entered the final game of the regular season with 915 yards and reached the mark on his ninth catch of the day.

"I was hoping to get a shot because I cannot pass up history," smiled Evans. "Coach Bowles did not want to pass it up nor Liam [Coen], so they had me go out there and get that because it has been hard to do for 11-straight years and to be tied with one of – if not the greatest receiver of all time – it means a lot to me and my family...

"The defense knew the record was on the line too. They were trying to get off the field and obviously they [Saints] were down eight points, so they [defense] were trying to stop them to give me another opportunity to chase history. I appreciate them for that."

This remarkable achievement makes Evans' bid into the Hall of Fame inevitable.
