The stress of the mishap heard around the world is allegedly the opposite of what Idol producers wanted heading into season 23

CARRIE Underwood is continuing to ‘stay quiet’ after her inauguration performance as American Idol producers now allegedly feel the move was ‘worst-case scenario’ for the show.

While the country singer has remained mum on the technical mishap that occurred when she sang America the Beautiful, the worldwide attention its received is “not at all” what execs wanted heading into the new season, a source told The U.S. Sun.

In the four days since Carrie, 41, took the stage inside the U.S. Capitol to perform for Donald Trump’s inauguration as 47th President of the United States, she has not said anything publicly about the event.

Reports have surfaced that the star is “furious” over suffering a technical glitch and feels she “wasn’t awarded the same level of respect” as past performers.

And insider has claimed to The U.S. Sun that Carrie has been "quieter" than normal, including on work calls, as she navigates the situation that has also put the American Idol team in a "stressful" position.

“The show just wants to stay away from anything political so this turning into such a big, worldwide topic of conversation is not what [the producers] wanted heading into the start of the season.

“The situation has become too big and out of anyone’s control now which is a stressful position to be in while trying to promote a family-friendly, politically neutral show.

“While I know people wish the show wasn't involved, they are proud of how Carrie handled herself in what I'm sure was a stressful moment but this is basically worst-case scenario.

“In terms of the amount of attention it's gotten and Idol being brought into the political conversation,” a source claimed.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to American Idol for comment.

While Carrie has not posted anything about the inauguration, she is presumably obligated to post about her upcoming Hulu special, and she finally broke her social media silence on Thursday.

She promoted her new Hulu concert special, Reflection, which drops Friday, January 24, on her X and Instagram accounts.

"TOMORROW! Check out the #REFLECTION concert special on @hulu and #HuluOnDisneyPlus," she said, without acknowledging her inauguration performance.

Reflection will include concert footage and behind-the-scenes video from Carrie's Las Vegas residency, which will return to Resorts World Theatre in March.

Carrie Underwood inauguration performance hit by huge technical blow as she sings for President Trump without any music

Earlier this week, the Grammy-winner endured a massive technical error that led to several moments of awkward silence on live TV in the middle of the inauguration.

SILENCE HEARD AROUND THE WORLD

Carrie was quickly walked onto the stage area by handlers where music from America The Beautiful was supposed to begin playing.

However, nothing came from the speakers - leading to awkward moments of silence and confusion as the whole room, Carrie included, looked around - seemingly not knowing what to do.

The former Idol winner ended up pushing through as she belted out the tune acapella and was praised by viewers for her professional “boss move.”

Despite the positive reaction from fans, Carrie was reportedly left “furious” by the lack of consideration, as well as for the technical mishap that occurred on the world’s biggest stage.

Carrie Underwood's Family

The American Idol winner had relationships with Chace Crawford and Tony Romo but she ultimately walked down the aisle with Mike Fisher.

Mike is a Canadian retired hockey player from Peterborough, Ontario.

In October 1999, Fisher made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators.

He played for the Senators until he was traded to the Nashville Predators.

One of the reasons he agreed to the trade was so he could be close to his wife Carrie.

On December 20, 2009, Carrie and her former hockey captain hubby announced their engagement.

On July 10, 2010, Carrie Underwood and Mike tied the knot after almost two years of dating.

More than 250 people were in attendance at their wedding ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia.

Carrie's engagement ring from Mike features a yellow diamond and was valued at $150K.

In February 2015, the couple welcomed their first child; a son named Isaiah.

In January 2019, the singer and the pro athlete expanded their family further with the birth of their second son Jacob.

According to the DailyMail, Carrie was upset that she was not granted a proper “stage or platform even like previous performers,” presumably due to the event being held indoors.

“Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable.

“Her anxiety was high throughout the performance, and she felt that she was not afforded the same level of respect or admiration that previous performers, such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, had received.

“She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterward,” a source claimed to the outlet.

The insider added that Carrie "is used to playing at massive venues with a stage to herself. She was not given a stage or a platform even.

“She felt like she was literally just in a room with people all around her and a microphone. This threw off the acoustics.”

Beyonce, 43, famously sang the Etta James classic At Last to end President Barack Obama's second-term inauguration in 2013.

In 2021, Lady Gaga, 38, was tapped to sing the National Anthem for President Joe Biden's inauguration.

While Carrie has been filming her gig as an American Idol judge for months, the season 23 premiere, alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, airs on Sunday, March 9.
