Cash Warren opened up about his relationship with wife Jessica Alba just months before the two reportedly decided to end their nearly 17-year marriage.

"I think, ultimately, the friendship and support and just knowing that your partner has your back means everything to us," Warren said in a July 2024 interview with Us Weekly. "I think that would be the secret, is just having each other's back. It's hard work, but we roll up our sleeves and we do it. It's wild. It's the longest relationship I could have ever imagined."

Warren, 45, and Alba, 43, have yet to comment on their reported split.

The pair first met in 2004, when they worked on Fantastic Four together in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Alba portrayed Sue Storm in the superhero movie, while Warren was on set as a director's assistant.

They married in May 2008 and went on to have three children — daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7.

Us reported that Alba recently stepped out without her wedding ring, though the couple appeared to spend the holidays with each other. And the two were all smiles when they posed with their children on Friday, January 3, at Universal Studios in California, where they were celebrating their youngest son's birthday.

In April 2024, Alba spoke with the BDA Baby podcast, and admitted how hard marriage can be, Us reported.

"It's all rosy for 2 ½ years, but then after that, you become roommates," the actress told the podcast's Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt. "And it's just, like, you're roommates. You're just going through the motion. It's the responsibility. It's a lot of, like, checking the boxes."

Responding to Pratt's question about how she made sure her "husband feels tended to," Alba responded, "If you've figured it out in your relationship, let me know."

She added: "You know, I think that [Warren] probably gets the short end of the stick. ... It's hard. It's impossible."
