Cathy Kelly has said going to court to finalise her divorce was “very stressful” and “very difficult”.
The author was previously married to the former managing director of Sony music John Sheehan and now the end of their relationship has been made official.
She is now in a relationship with somebody else and she is settling her family home Enniskerry, Co Wicklow as she moves on with her life.

Cathy said: “Going into court is incredibly difficult. Affidavits are a nightmare.
"And it could be quite chaotic having to get all those pieces of paper together because... you know... I have my own business and I own my own home… so you know it is a marvellous clean break."
The news of their split was first confirmed three years ago and now both Cathy and her ex-husband have moved on romantically.
She told the Sunday Independent : “I’m in a new relationship and my ex-husband is now in a relationship which I’m delirious about and that’s the way it should be... if you can both move on with your lives.”
The former Dancing with the Stars contestant is putting her six bedroomed Enniskerry family home on the market in the spring because the house is too big for her and her needs in the future.
Cathy explained her decision: “I’m downsizing because it’s too big for me.
"The house is fabulous if you’ve a whole family living in it, but you know… I read recently that one in five people in Ireland are living in houses with rooms they don’t use, so I just feel it’s the right time."
