As one of the biggest trailblazers in Hollywood, Cher has had to have some thick skin and a gutsy attitude to make her mark. So, of course, it’ll be hardly a surprise when readers are left applauding her confessions in her new memoir, Cher: The Memoir.

Most recently, the confession of Cher’s first time having sex is making is getting some attention. After all, their intimate moment was anything but traditional. According to the “Believe” singer, she lost her V-card to a boy in her neighborhood who she started dating when she was 14.
“[He] was sweet enough when we were alone, but as soon as his friends came around, he’d treat me like an embarrassing kid,” she wrote, per People. In fact, she remembered a specific moment when the boy “ditched” her to go to a restaurant with his friends.
“I was so hurt when he did that, I had revenge sex with him,” she wrote. “I had never wanted to. Otherwise, I would have done it one of the five hundred other times he asked,” Cher continued. “But I was so angry at being dismissed, I decided to, if not lose, loan out my virginity to him.”

What pushed her to do it this time around? Sweet, sweet vengeance.
When the two were done, Cher’s master plan began. “When what turned out to be a massively overrated experience came to an end, I asked him, ‘Is that it? Are we finished?’ Then I told him to go home and never come back,” she remembered. “I wanted him to feel just as dismissed as he’d made me feel.” Safe to say they never spoke to each other again!
As it turns out, it wasn’t all an act either – Cher genuinely didn’t think sex was all it’s cut out to be. “My mother warned me that the minute I lost my virginity she’d know because she’d see it in my eyes, so after the romp with the Italian, I ran to the mirror to check,” she wrote. “I half expected to see the word SEX flashing in fluorescent letters across my forehead, but I couldn’t spot anything different, and she didn’t either.”
“I reported to my friends that the ‘thing’ they were constantly talking about was no big deal and that they should carry on kissing,” she added.
What can we say? Cher’s been authentically herself since the beginning!
