Chiefs Reveal First Minimal Injury Report Heading Into Super Bowl vs Eagles

3 hours ago 2

The Kansas City Chiefs have dealt with injuries all season, and despite losing some key players for multiple weeks, the team is heading into its third consecutive Super Bowl. The good news is that multiple injuries are a thing of the past, and the Chiefs have produced the first minimal injury report leading into the big game.

The only three players that have appeared on the injury report for the Chiefs, are quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tackle Jawaan Taylor and wide receiver Skyy Moore. Despite their injuries, Mahomes and Taylore were full participants. Moore was limited.

Mahomes is dealing with an ankle injury, likely related to the high ankle sprain he suffered during Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns. Though Mahomes did not miss any games, he is likely dealing with a lingering injury as a result of that game.

Taylor is dealing with a knee injury that has also been lingering but has not kept him out of the playoffs. The good news is he did not appear as a limited participant in the first report.

Moore was activated from IR recently, after suffering a core injury. He was initially slated to be doubtful for the Super Bowl. His limited status is definitely an upgrade, but that doesn't mean he will be ready to go by the big game.

The Chiefs could use all the help they can get on the receiving side of things, but losing Moore for the game wouldn't be too detrimental.

The biggest issue is Mahomes being able to play through his ankle injury. Even though he hasn't missed a game due to the injury, a wrong hit could spell trouble for the Chiefs.

Mahomes was seen limping during the matchup with the Browns. He received a tape job and went back onto the field.

Mahomes is one of the most durable players in the NFL, but even he wouldn't be able to survive another big shot to an already hurt ankle.

The Eagles also have one of the best defenses in the league, so they would naturally want to see if they can get after Mahomes to rattle him, especially if he is playing on a hurt ankle.

For now, the Chiefs are heading into the Super Bowl with a very positive first injury report.
