Chloe Madeley, a personal trainer, has opened up about the two-word message she gave to her famous parents, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, after her split from rugby star James Haskell. In an interview with The Sun, Chloe, 37, spoke about the final years of her relationship with the ex-England rugby player, saying she had "won the lottery" with her supportive parents.

However, when her marriage began to crumble, she had some strong words for them: "I'm sure they didn't want my marriage with James to end - they have that oldschool mentality about the family unit. But I said to them: 'Trust me, I'll be happier doing this than if I stay'."

Despite her firm stance, Chloe revealed that Richard and Judy have been incredibly supportive since her divorce, often reminding her of her own words whenever she worries about the future. "If I ever get worried about the future, they remind me what I told them. They reassure me that it was the right thing to do and I'm eternally grateful, because they make me feel I can handle it. And the fact is, I made the right decision - for all three of us", Chloe explained.

She also touched on the challenges of raising her daughter, whom she had with James, as a single parent, admitting that the unknown aspect of it was "panic inducing".

After their split, both James and Chloe have given more insight into their time together. The couple tied the knot in 2018, welcomed their daughter Bodhi in 2022 before parting ways in 2023.

James, 39, has also shed light on their marriage and the reasons behind its collapse, admitting their relationship was "not working". He told The Times: "My relationship was not working. I never intended to get separated and we tried very hard to ensure that didn't happen. Chloe is utterly brilliant - she's intelligent and she's a fantastic mum. Our differences have to be put to one side."

Meanwhile, Chloe provided more detailed insight as to where she thinks it went wrong and the moment she knew it was over on Olivia Attwood's So Wrong, It's Right podcast, reports Gloucestershire Live.

She said: "My ex, and I, I think, one of the reasons things became so hard for us is that he thrives in chaos. His schedule, I don't even remember the last time he was in England for a full week, he's all over the place. And I just can't do that. Can't live like that.

"I think I knew that I was really unhappy, and I think he knew that he was really unhappy too. But I don't think either of us ever would have predicted that we were going to break up. Ever.

"And I swear to God, it was just like one day, we were, I remember exactly where we were. I remember the day, the time, the temperature, the outfits, where we were, everything. I just remember saying I don't think that we should do this anymore but really meaning it and it kind of went from there."
