Chris Martin took a tumble.
The frontman fell through an onstage trapdoor while walking backward during Sunday night’s Coldplay concert in Melbourne, as captured by viral fan footage.
The musician, who was reacting to audience members’ signs when he slipped, emerged with a smile and joked to his fans that he had not “planned” the accident.
“Thank you for catching me, so much. Holy s–t,” he said to someone out of sight before predicting that the fall would be a “YouTube moment.”
Martin, 47, went on to tell Marvel Stadium concertgoers that he had “the jitters” and felt “a little weird” after losing his balance — but was ultimately “OK.”
He channeled Oprah Winfrey, quipping to crew members, “You get a bonus! You get a bonus!”

Social media users reacted to Martin’s spill via X, with one joking that the Grammy winner “went down under down under.”
Another referenced the band’s hit 2000 song, writing, “Once his bruise healed, it was ALL yellow!!”
The viral video comes nearly one month after Olivia Rodrigo similarly fell while performing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
The “Driver’s License” singer, 21, was running when she fell straight through a gaping hole in the stage while her audience gasped.
“Oh, my God,” she said. “That was fun. Sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage. That’s all right. OK, where was I?”
Earlier this same year, Ed Sheeran made headlines for tripping and falling to his knees during a Japan concert.
“Styled it out,” the “Shape of You” singer, 33, jokingly captioned an Instagram video of his slip.
“Quickest getting up ever,” Natasha Bedingfield commented, while Gavin DeGraw and Diplo respectively said that “nobody noticed” and Sheeran “crushed it.”
The following month, Taylor Swift was performing in Tokyo when she tripped walking downstairs.
