Oof. This is heartbreaking.
In a sneak peek of Christina Haack‘s new series The Flip Off, she got extremely candid about why she split from Josh Hall — ironically while talking to her first husband Tarek El Moussa. In the clip, obtained by People on Thursday, she admitted she wasn’t doing well, sharing, “Josh and I officially split up.” She shared:
“We had a blow up… middle fingers in my face. Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”
Oh, no…

It was comments from the exes’ children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, (and her son Hudson, 4, from another romance) that really drove her to make a change, she revealed tearfully:
“The kids literally asked me to leave. They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around?”
Whoa. That must have been so hard to hear from them! Any momma wants to be a good example to her kids, so to have them telling her she was in a toxic situation?? What a reality check! But, thankfully, she listened and got them all out of the unhealthy dynamic. Josh filed for divorce from Christina in July, and they’ve been tied up in a legal battle ever since.
Getting really emotional in her chat with Tarek, whom she divorce in December 2016, the real estate investor went on:
“I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time and I just can’t get out of it. … Everything since like 2016 has been so hard and so horrible. It’s really taken a really bad toll on me. I’m really sorry for s**t too. I really am. I just want you to know.”
Tarek quickly replied:
“I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost. And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this.”
The couple’s 7-year marriage ended after Tarek fled the family home with a gun and later checked into rehab for addiction. He’d been struggling with alcohol and withdrawal from testosterone. But after finding love with Heather Rae El Moussa, who he married in 2021, he’s been able to turn his life around. Unfortunately, Christina moved on to Ant Anstead, with whom she shares Hudson, before finding love with Josh, and none of her marriages have stuck.
We’re glad to see she can lean on Tarek, and we hope things will get better from here on out!
The exes’ new HGTV show will premiere on January 29. Originally, Josh was also supposed to be a star, but he was kicked off midway through production. It’s unclear if he’ll make an appearance at all. See the sneak peek HERE.
