Christmas cooking can wreak havoc on the inside of your oven (Image: Getty)
Christmas is over for another year, and it's likely you've spent the past couple of days with family and friends, eating, drinking and celebrating the occasion.
And if you were hosting the long-awaited Christmas feast, the clear-up is now probably done - although it may have taken a while to tackle.
But there's one area that often gets overlooked amidst all the excitement, even though it does a lot of the work over the festive period.
Nobody likes doing this, but your oven could probably do with a good clean after cooking the turkey, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and anything else you might have indulged in on Christmas Day.
Oil and grease stains from this food can wreak havoc on your appliance, especially on the glass and metal trays inside.

Getting the job done in time for the New Year is also just generally a good idea, as it means you'll have a fresh, clean oven for 2025.
But it doesn't have to be a long and tiresome chore, according to TikTok cleaning influencer Chantel Mila.
In fact, by using just three simple household products, you can actually clean your oven overnight with minimal effort involved - perfect for those lazy days in between Christmas and New Year.
The Australian content creator shared a tutorial on how to 'easily' get your oven looking sparkling again, which could come in very handy if it's looking worse for wear after the festivities.

All you need to carry out this hack is three very simple household ingredients, and the trick even gets to work overnight, eliminating the need for any harsh scrubbing.
In the video, Chantel explains that you'll need to mix 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1tsp of dish soap together along with a splash of water to make a smooth paste.
Then, apply a thin layer to your greasy oven door or interior, before leaving it to sit overnight.
Then, in the morning, grab a cloth and give the oven a wipe down, focusing on any stubborn areas which may still have dirt buildup on them.
To really tackle any tough stains, take some white vinegar and spray it on the stains, wiping it away with the cloth to remove any residue.
Chantel added: "Baking soda is alkaline which helps cut through acidic oven grease. Dish soap helps soften built-up grease."
This combination should be enough to tackle any stains left in your oven during the Christmas period, leaving you with a fresh appliance for the New Year.
In the comments, people thanked Chantel for sharing her advice, with many agreeing that it really did work after trying it out themsleves.
One person said: "Just tried it and it works a treat!!!"
Another said: "That's awesome! I'm going to try it."
And a third commented: "Ahhh! Perfect! Stove cleaning is tomorrow, I'm so excited to use this!"
