Coleen Rooney has shared her true feelings about husband Wayne Rooney urging fans to vote for her to take on a Bushtucker trial.
Coleen managed to avoid the public vote for several days, keeping her safe from the creepy-crawlies, snakes, and fish guts, until Wayne encouraged fans to vote for the mum-of-four to take on a trial.
She eventually faced the trail alongside fellow campmate Dean McCullough in a bid to win stars for the camp's dinner, reports the Mirror.
In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Coleen admitted she laughed when she found out Wayne had been rallying his huge social media following to get her to do the trials.
The former Manchester United player took to social media on 23 November, encouraging his fans to vote, writing: "Proud of @ColeenRoo on @imacelebrity She’s doing great. Me and the boys would love to see her doing a trial and we know she’d want to put herself to the test. If you can download the #ImACeleb app and let’s get voting!"
After his campaign to get Coleen votes, she was chosen to do a trail the very next day. Reflecting on Wayne's playful request Coleen said: "So I heard but you know what? I’m so glad he did, because I was desperate to do a trial. And at that time, I thought, What’s the point in coming here if I’m not doing any trials?
During one trail Coleen had a cockroach stuck in her ear, she recalled: "I could just feel it going round, and I could see people’s faces, and they were like: ‘that’s not right'"
"But I didn’t panic, and they squirted the water up there and it was all ok.".
Coleen also shared how she was touched by Wayne's response to her stint away from their family: "He just said how proud he was. In the letter I got in camp, he said he’s never missed me as much and I can understand that, because we’ve been apart for weeks and weeks on end, but we speak a number of times a day," she said.
"We FaceTime. So to not have that communication has been tough and not knowing or keeping up to date on the kids’ school and football. I’m so involved in all that back home that was hard."
She revealed just how emotional her luxury item - pillow with a photo of her family on it - made her. "In that first week, I did wake up one morning and I looked at the pillow and I saw on it obviously Wayne and the kids, and I had a little cry and I thought I don’t know whether I can go all this way," she confessed.
Although she quickly shook off the homesickness, and took camp life in her stride and focused on the day to day tasks, she explained: "I went off and did the washing up and collected the wood and did whatever I had to do, I just got on with it."

She also confessed to feeling overshadowed by the larger-than-life personalities in camp and questioning her own role, she said: "In the first week I just thought I can’t see me going all the way because I was just me. We had loads of personalities in there who were great and I got on with, but they were performers and I felt like I was, at times, just sat there thinking, ‘what do I bring? ’".
"It wasn’t uncomfortable. They made it comfortable. It was just me sitting back and looking at that camp and thinking I was more quieter than everyone else. But obviously people enjoyed it and wanted me to stay in there longer and see a bit more of me. I don’t know why but they did."
