Coleen Rooney shuts down wild rumour as she joins I'm A Celebrity line-up

The line-up for I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! 2024 has been unveiled and it includes Coleen Rooney, who posted a video amid the announcement to discuss being a campmate

Campmate Coleen Rooney has hit back at claims she will try to duck out of challenges on I'm A Celebrity - and says bring on the bushtucker trials.

Reports last week suggested she may try to be exempt from some of the trials due to health reasons. It claimed she has painful reactive arthritis, which affects the joints and is set off by stress and that would scupper her taking a full part in the ITV show.

But in a video posted on social media to confirm she was heading Down Under, Coleen said: "I'm looking forward to doing the trials. There's been a lot of news saying that I can't do trials because of certain illnesses and that, but I can confirm I can do every trial. So I am not excluded from any that was just a load of rubbish, and I am, yeah, I'm looking forward to it."

She then sounded emotional as she spoke of leaving her four children behind, showing a white board with weeks of planning so they are able to continue with all their schooling and after school events without her.

She added: "Don't get me wrong. I am really anxious about leaving the kids. That's my biggest thing, and I it for weeks and months that's been on my mind, but I've come to terms with it. I've planned, I've prepped. I've got an army of people, family, friends, school friends all helping out with the kids, so they are going to be fine, and they are probably going to have a great time when I'm away."

Showing letters and little cuddly toys on the table, she added: "And then, these are to open when they come in from school a little teddy so that they know that I am constantly thinking of them."

Explaining her decision to go on the show, she said: "I can confirm I am going in the jungle. Do you know what, they've asked me for so many years now. And I've just always said 'No' put it off, because kids have been young, and I've had a lot on and then this year, I just thought, 'Do you know what? I quite fancy doing it'. I would like to experience it, something different, do something for myself and meet new people."

Coleen is expected to land in Australia tomorrow and will then enter the camp at the weekend with the nine other campmates.
