Comedian Kathy Griffin Settles Bitter Divorce From Ex Randy Bick: Details on Support and Property

10 hours ago 3

Comedian Kathy Griffin had an air tight prenuptial agreement with her ex-husband, Randy Bick, that allowed her to hold onto the majority of her fortune, In Touch can exclusively report.

In Touch obtained the divorce settlement signed by Kathy, 64, on January 6. Randy signed the deal on December 12, 2024. Kathy and Randy wed on January 1, 2020.

The entertainer filed for divorce on December 28, 2023. In her petition, Kathy asked the court to terminate the right for either party to collect spousal support.

In the settlement, the parties note that “irreconcilable differences” are the reason for the divorce.

The agreement noted that “per the parties December 2019 prenuptial agreement, no community property assets or debts were created during the parties’ marriage. The parties agree that no community property exists.”

Kathy was awarded all of her separate property assets. The comedian said she would handle all credit card debts. Further, Kathy and Randy said their prenup was clear that neither party would receive spousal support.

Kathy has quite the net worth; the comedian purchased a $8.8 million mansion in Malibu in 2020. Based on the interactive maps released by the Los Angeles Fire Department to determine which homes were damaged in the recent wildfires, Kathy’s home appears to have been safe.

As In Touch first reported, the divorce turned ugly at one point, with Randy accusing Kathy of refusing to let him back into the martial home to collect items.

Randy said he asked the entertainer for permission to inventory and collect his property at her L.A. mansion with a third party present. Randy said he had left the home in December 2023 after Kathy asked him for time apart.

He said they attend couple’s therapy to try and work on their issues. “I packed a small duffle bag with some clothes and toiletries and left for the weekend. When I told [Kathy] that I would be returning home, she refused to allow me to return and threatened, without any basis whatsoever, to ‘call the cops’ if I were to return to the residence,” Randy told the judge.

Randy told the court, “Upon termination of our relationship, I not only found myself homeless, but also suddenly unemployed and without any source of income to financially support myself through this inherently expensive transition. I have not yet been successful in securing new employment but have been actively interviewing and pursuing a new position.”

Kathy’s ex told the court, “I have always treated [Kathy] with love and respect and have never given her a reason to feel unsafe with me in the home. Despite the fact that she has filed for divorce, there is no reason that I should not receive the courtesy and respect that I deserve as both a long-term employee and, more importantly, her husband and partner.”

Eventually, the exes worked out a temporary deal before the judge had to get involved in the matter. Kathy agreed to pay Randy a one-time lump sum of $75,000 after he made his plea for help with his legal fees.

Kathy was previously married to Matt Moline from 2001 to 2006.
