Shona gets badly hurt in a car accident in upcoming scenes on Coronation Street.
It looks like trouble in paradise for one couple this Christmas as Coronation Street teases a new storyline for Shona (Julia Goulding) which sees her lying to partner David in an attempt to hide the truth. The ITV soap hinted that a potential cheating scandal could be on the cards, although they're staying tight lipped for this festive season.
The cracks between the previously strong couple are already starting to show, with Shona discovering that David (Jack P Shepherd) has been in contact her son Clayton (Callum Harrison) in prison without telling her.

In Corrie spoilers, we discover that Shona will soon discover the truth about David and Clayton and how he has also been hiding things from her. Feeling overwhelmed, she decides to spend the night away from the Platts'. Something which she later comes to regret.
Once returned, she confides in her boss Roy Cropper (David Neilson) about her night away. She says she has made a mistake she deeply regrets while away from her family.
Following on from this, David gets annoyed at Shona back at their home. He asks her to sleep on the sofa as he needs to spend the night alone. However, when alone, Shona receives a mysterious text message that David can't see, due to being upstairs.
Time will skip forward slightly to find Shona in front of an unknown hotel room door. We're not sure who is inside, but she is clearly meeting someone important - could she be cheating on David?
While on her way home, she nearly gets run over by a car. The near-miss gives her a badly injured arm, which she tries to hide. When sneaking back into No.8 she doesn't tell David where she was. When asked, she lies and claims that she fell down the stairs during the night and broke her arm in two places.

However when confronted by Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) later in the week, she tells the truth and reveals that she almost got hit by a car. This is linked to Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who gets her car stolen near the same time.
Things turn sour for Shona when David finds her torn and bloodied jacket in the bin outside. He confronts her, but Shona maintains that is happened during her fall down the stairs.
Producer Kate Brooks recently revealed that Shona and David's marriage will go through some serious testing over the next month and on Christmas. Shona is said to act out in a self-destructive matter.
"All those secrets come to the forefront on Christmas Day," Brooks told Digital Spy.
