Further reports indicated that Prescott was dealing with a hamstring injury, that appears to be far more concerning at this point. The Cowboys signal caller spoke to reporters about the injury, indicating that he might be sidelined for more than just half a game.
Prescott spoke to reporters, and The Atheltic's Jon Machota revealed the Cowboys quarterback stated, "I felt something pull. I felt something I've never felt."
Prescott had to be pulled from the game due to a hamstring injury, and it appears the damage he sustained could lead to some time off. This is just speculation, but hamstring issues are never easy to deal with.
The fact that Prescott also stated that he "felt something I've never felt," is very concerning. Should he have a significant hamstring sprain or pull, he could be sidelined for multiple weeks.
When Prescott exited the game, backup quarterback Cooper Rush took over. Rush threw for 115 yards and one touchdown in his limited time taking over.
The Cowboys have been in a bit of disarray lately, and the injury to Prescott cannot come at a worse time. The team is now 3-5 and will have to battle plenty to make it back to playoff contention.
The issue is the NFC is loaded with competitive teams. A staggering seven teams have positive records right now. Half of those teams belong to the NFC North. Should the Cowboys want to compete for a playoff spot, they need to figure out how to win, and fast.

Prescott wasn't the only player who suffered an injury in the loss, as star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was pulled from action due to a shoulder injury. The offense was clearly vastly different without the two most important offensive pieces available.
Starting running back Ezekiel Elliott was also a healthy scratch after he was inactive due to disciplinary reasons. Reports indicated that Elliott has been distracted and not engaged with the team. His attention led to his not being asked to travel to Atlanta with the team.
The Cowboys appear to be a mess right now, and losing Prescott for any games will make winning that much more difficult. The hope is the injury he suffered is nothing serious, though more tests are likely to be done.
