The Dallas Cowboys continue to get hit with major injuries to their skill players. Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has shockingly been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024 season following a shoulder injury that has plagued him.

The hope was that Lamb was going to heal to rejoin his teammates for the final two games of the season. However, that will not be the case. The Cowboys are likely going to be cautious with the star receiver, allowing him time to heal and be ready for the 2025 season instead.
The Athletic's Jon Machota offered more details about the Lamb injury, stating:
"Additional examinations and scans this week on CeeDee Lamb's shoulder have determined that his injury has now progressed to a point that he will be listed as 'Out' for the remaining two games of the season. He will undergo a process of treatment and rehabilitation for his shoulder, is not currently expected to require surgery and is projected to make a full recovery."
The good news is that Lamb does not require surgery, but he will instead undergo rehabilitation for the shoulder injury. Again, the Cowboys are being cautious with one of their most important star players.
Lamb initially held out of training camp and preseason in lieu of signing a new deal with the Cowboys. Though the thought was that he would not play in the 2024 season, Dallas eventually caved and offered him a four-year, $136 million deal.
Lamb's annual take would be $34 million, which was the most at the time for a non-QB. This was until the Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson beat it by one million with his four-year $140 million deal.
Still, Lamb was awarded a massive contract after a 2023 season that included 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, which was 50 yards and one touchdown behind the league leader, Tyreek Hill.
Even with Lamb suffering a shoulder injury in 2024, he still brought in 1,194 yards and six touchdowns. Now, Lamb will join Sam Williams, Dak Prescott, and DeMarcus Lawrence as top players on the Cowboys who have missed multiple games due to injury.

The Cowboys have a ton of decisions to make at the end of the 2024 season, which includes bringing back head coach Mike McCarthy. The one decision they don't have to make is forcing Lamb back on the field to play through an injury that could get worse.
Dallas has already been knocked out of the playoffs, and the team is likely going to play things safe with their star players to prepare for a hopefully better season in 2025.
