Cruz Beckham has surprised fans with the first snippet of his own original music in years, drawing unexpected comparisons to Oasis.
And some have even said his new song is ‘better’.
The 19-year-old, who is the son of footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girls chart-topper Victoria, has been known to harbour musical ambition for some time.
He shared his first single back in 2016 as a youngster, released for charity and called If Every Day Was Christmas.
However, he hasn’t shared much online recently – save his accompaniment on guitar for the girl group’s musical reunion at his mum’s 50th birthday party earlier this year.
But just after Christmas, he has dropped a clip debuting his own sound on social media with a tease from a song that appears to be called For Ya Love.
Posting to his Instagram and TikTok accounts, the short video of his song shows Cruz and a pal performing in a studio through a red filter and fish-eye lens effect.
The track has a moody, 90s sound with reverb, guitar and Cruz putting in a confident vocal performance with a fair bit of swag that’s been dubbed ‘sick’, ‘authentic’ and ‘actually decent’.
‘Call me if you’re looking for some fun/ I’ll slip you through the needle of my eye,’ he drawls while playing, with the lyrics continuing: ‘Love’s a word that money cannot buy/ Lusting for destruction, just to find some satisfaction/ Turning evil into action/ For your love.’

‘Woooow gave me Gallagher vibes,’ posted @aniexe on Instagram, while @les.bento added: ‘I already want it on Spotify pls [sic].’
‘I guess it was worth the wait, gives Oasis vibes to me somehow,’ agreed @ece.koseogluu, while @anitatristao1 was adamant Cruz’s track ‘sounds like a mix of Oasis and Paul McCartney but so muchhhhhh better’.
Others also agreed with the assessment that Cruz’s sound was superior to that of Britpop hitmaking icons Oasis.
‘Nah better than that, completely individual and well on the way to an artist in his own right,’ countered @bobbyjobby1.
‘Sounds sick!!’ chimed in McFly’s @dannyjonesofficial, while @chtournaire praised: ‘Long time since I’ve heard such a good new sound.’
‘Sounds like Oasis & Beatles together but so much nicer. I’m surprised!’ admitted @Rachael_1_1 on TikTok, where @coinhurford also called the song ‘unironically great’.
Others admitted their own assumptions over how the muti-instrumentalist teen might sound, with @gryffind1 writing: ‘Why am I surprised that this is actually good?’
‘Love this! This is a Beckham kid!?! Great sound and voice. More please,’ commented Lara, while another fan insisted it was ‘a firm answer to the nepo baby bulls**t’.
‘This sounds really good!!! I’m from Liverpool, and I definitely hear what others have mentioned. Old school vibes with a modern twist. Please ignore the haters and carry on,’ encouraged @_insta_graz.
Cruz, who is currently dating 29-year-old Brazilian-German songwriter Jackie Apostel, reportedly signed to music management company C3 in May, who have worked with Fleetwood Mac star Lindsey Buckingham and Jack Harlow, switching over from TaP.
While Cruz’s brother Romeo, 22, was following in his father’s footsteps as a footballer before he appeared to leave the sport in September in order to pursue a new venture in fashion – where his mum has happily been leading her own brands for several years.
He previously played for his dad’s MLS side in the US, Inter Miami, before signing a deal with Brentford B in 2023.
Eldest sibling Brooklyn, 25, has also tried out a few careers over the years, releasing a photography book – and later interning for famed British photographer Rankin – and pursuing modelling, before more recently rebranding as a chef.
