Curtis Pritchard is hoping to find love for second time as he signed up for Love Island: All Stars, but his previous lover has now hit out at the star in a brutal swipe
Love Island: Curtis tells Maura ‘tonight is not the night’Curtis Pritchard's ex has taken a major swipe at him after signing for Love Island : All Stars.
Professional dancer Curtis, 28, was confirmed to be taking part in the All Stars series of Love Island, set to hit screens next Monday (January 13). Curtis had first found fame when he starred in the show in 2019, leaving the show with Irish babe Maura Higgins.
However, according to reports, Curtis immediately jumped at the chance to go back into the villa for a second time, admitting he "loved it". This came despite the fact he had been getting together with girlfriend Sophie Sheridan, resulting in him splitting with after a year of bliss.
The official line-up featuring Curtis was released on Tuesday (January 7), alongside a host of other famous faces. However, head of the full reveal, Sophie got some things off her chest, admitting she needed to make her feelings clear on what Curtis' plan was.
Sophie spilled the beans after a rumoured TikTok video speculating the rumoured line-up, which listed Curtis as a potential candidate to go back to the Island. One confused fan, however, was unsure about the nature of their relationship, as all had gone quiet on that front for some time.
"What deal does he have with his girlfriend Sophie?!" the fan asked. "He dropped her to go on games/hook up with others/had an early exit and then back to her; he was still with her last week! Another pretend break-up."
But Sophie was quick to confirm that the break-up was all too real for her, as she made the brutal dig in the comments section. "I've had a lucky escape," she chillingly wrote.
Similarly, a source close to the couple told The Sun that the pair had split long before his stint on All Stars was confirmed by ITV. "Curtis split from Sophie a few months ago after the pair decided they were better off as friends," they explained.
The insider carried on: "The romance had run its course and Curtis couldn't see the relationship going any further. It came at the right time, as Love Island bosses were also desperate to get him back on the show for All Stars."
In the wake of the break-up, Sophie has scrubbed her social media, leaving behind no trace that they had even been together. On the other hand, Curtis has continued to acknowledge the relationship, leaving several posts of their relationship on his Instagram page.
Sophie and Curtis had been linked romantically since March of 2022 after having been seen together at the Cheltenham Festival. Curtis was not a single man at this point however, as he had attended the festival with his girlfriend at the time, Abbie Quinnen.
The new series of Love Island: All Stars airs on Monday January 13) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
