David Schwimmer and Rod Stewart probably won’t be calling each other friends anytime soon.

The Friends alum recently stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where the host asked him about “unique” jobs he had in his late teens, before making it big in Hollywood.

“One summer after my freshman year in college, I was just looking for work, and my mom said, ‘Well, you can be a process server for me,'” Schwimmer recounted to Stephen Colbert. “My mom was a divorce lawyer, and I was the guy who would pop out of the bushes and serve you divorce papers.”

The Goosebumps actor quipped that he felt like “James Bond” at the time, as he would get “tipped off” on where people might be so he could serve them the legal papers. However, one person in particular he still remembers to this day.

“Once, oh man, thank goodness I’ve never run into him since, but I served Rod Stewart,” Schwimmer recalled with a laugh. “I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows.”

Colbert quickly joked in response, “He knows now. Change your locks, man. He’s vengeful,” adding, “You could theoretically run into Rod Stewart sometime and now he knows to punch you.”

Though Schwimmer didn’t confirm who was divorcing the legendary British rock singer at the time, Stewart and his first wife Alana Stewart divorced in 1984. That same year, the actor would have been 18 years old.

Stewart later tied the knot with model Rachel Hunter in 1990, however they split nine years later, but didn’t finalize their divorce until 2006. The singer has been with his current wife, Penny Lancaster, since 2007.
