According to British Lion Eggs, eggs are useful in a healthy, balanced diet for weight loss as they are relatively low in calories (66 calories in a medium-sized egg).

Nutrient-dense and a high-quality protein source, eggs are guaranteed to fill you up when enjoyed for breakfast.

The recipe creators at Arla recommend pairing eggs with leafy greens, cheese, and a generous helping of salt and pepper for a delicious frittata.

While frittata is traditionally cooked on a stove and finished in the oven, this recipe can be made entirely in the air fryer.

Sharing the dish, the Arla team said: "Using the air fryer simplifies the cooking and ensures an evenly cooked and delightful result. Whether breakfast, brunch, or a quick lunch, this air fryer frittata delivers flavour and satisfaction in every bite."

This recipe calls for an incredibly simple blend of six ingredients: eggs, cheddar cheese, baby spinach, salt and pepper. Plus, one extra addition - soured cream.

It's a healthier alternative to butter, which is tempting to reach for, and it's used to create a creamy and delicious twist on the classic dish.

Method

To make the mixture, whisk eggs, soured cream, cheddar, and spinach in a bowl or jug, and then season generously with salt and pepper.

Next, press a sheet of baking paper into the air fryer basket. Pour the egg mixture into the basket and cook at 180C for about 10 minutes or until the frittata is set.

Overcooking frittata is a common mishap many people make. The Arla team warned: "If left in the air fryer for too long, frittatas can become rubbery and lose their moist, fluffy texture. It is essential to keep a close eye on it, especially as you get closer to the recommended cooking time."

Gently insert a knife or a toothpick into the very centre of the frittata. If it comes out clean, your frittata is ready to be served.
