It’s finally over. After seven and a half years, the Libby German and Abby Williams‘ killer is facing justice.
After the harrowing trial concluded on Thursday, the jury was left to decide whether they believed the man they saw in Libby’s final video was indeed defendant Richard Allen, who was accused of brutally killing the young teens in Delphi, Indiana back in February 2017.
After 18 hours (!!!) of deliberation, they found Allen guilty on 2 counts each of murder and murder while committing or attempting to commit kidnapping. Finally he’s been convicted.

We can’t say we’re too shocked. In addition to graphic forensic details of the crimes, the jury was also played a recording in which Allen can be heard telling his wife over the phone:
“I did it. I killed Abby and Libby.”
Not sure how you don’t convict there. The defense said it was a false confession. Those definitely happen, but usually to cops, right? During interrogations? Why would a man say that to his wife? Clearly she still supports him anyway. Kathy Allen told local outlet WTHR that “this isn’t over at all.” Hmm.
Allen will face sentencing on December 10 — where he could get up to 130 years. In other words, the 52-year-old will likely die in prison. We hope the victims’ families take some comfort in that.
