Diddy gets dealt a tough loss as he's now without key piece of defense and fans know why

As the days pass by, Diddy's federal criminal trial gets closer and closer. Sean Combs, the disgraced music mogul, is charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. This doesn't account for the countless lawsuits accusing him of rape and sexual assault.

Diddy needs a miracle in order to see a reduced sentence. Any hopes of going free immediately are practically zero. In order to get a "win" of sorts, Combs has put together an all-star team of lawyers. But his team lost a member on Friday, as Anthony Ricco stepped down without explanation.

Fans could only think of one reason the defense attorney would choose to withdraw from his role: he was going to be put in a position to lie.

The only other reason, according to fans, would be the lawyer not getting paid for his work due to Diddy's rising legal costs. Both ideas make sense, but Combs is now down a top laywer in a crucial legal battle.

There doesn't appear to be much of a way out for Diddy, whether Ricco would have stayed on or not, but his odds can't have improved after this decision.

Who is Anthony Ricco, Diddy's defense attorney that resigned?

Ricco is one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the United States. He has served as learned counsel on "approximately 45 federal death penalty cases across the country" over the past 19 years.

Ricco has earned several awards and recognitions throughout his career, after studying at Adelphi University and Northeastern University School of Law.
