Doechii treated fans with a trailer for her upcoming "Denial is a River" show with cameos from Zack Fox, ScHoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, Earl Sweatshirt (who's going by Brad Pitt), and more. Check it out below.
On Thursday (Dec. 26), fans got a look at the Family Matters-inspired trailer that shows the cast of Denial is a River, including Fox, Q, Teezo, Earl, actor Rickey Thompson, Baby Tate, SiR, H Wood, and DJ Miss Milan. Doechii shared another post where she comically slapped some of the people making cameos in the project, including Earl "Brad Pitt" Sweatshirt in the trailer.
"Denial Is A River Show | Premiering January 2nd 2025," Doechii captioned her first Instagram post. In her second post, she wrote, "Doechii Slaps Brad Pitt | @denialisarivershow."
"Denial is a River" is a song where Doechii reflects on one of her exes, featured on her critically acclaimed mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. Doechii's third official mixtape spawned several other hits, including "Boom Bap" and "Nissan Altima" across its 19-song tracklist.
Complex ranked the mixtape fourth on our The 50 Best Albums of 2024 list, and she recently accepted the award for Variety's Hitmakers' Hip-Hop Disruptor of the Year earlier this month. In her speech, Doechii spoke about her love for music.
"Thank you guys for this," she started. "I started making rap music when I was in high school, and from the beginning, I felt a deep connection to the roots of hip hop and the intellectuals who built this legacy."
She continued, "Music has always been a way to tell my story. It's my way to talk about everything I've been through and everything I've learned through the lens of the black woman."
