Drake is back on top, and he brought his right-hand man, PARTYNEXTDOOR, along for the ride. The duo achieved multiple milestones with their recent collaborative effort $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, which reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

The Feb. 14 release sold 246,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, toppling Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, which returned to No. 1 after his Super Bowl LIX performance. This marks Drizzy’s 14th No. 1 album, allowing him to tie Taylor Swift and Jay-Z, who all trail The Beatles and their 19 No. 1 albums.

Drake is now three-for-three when it comes to his collaborative albums reaching the mountain top, with $$$4U following the lead of 2015’s What A Time To Be Alive alongside Future and the 21 Savage-assisted Her Loss in 2022.

PARTYNEXTDOOR broke new ground in his career, as this album marks his biggest first-week sales performance and his first-ever No. 1 album. Before $$$4U, the Mississauga singer never sold more than 50,000 album-equivalent units in any first week across his four studio albums.

“Gimme A Hug,” one of Drake’s solo records from the album, charted the highest at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Another solo 6 God track, “Nokia,” climbed to a few spots below at No. 10 on that same chart. The highest-charting song on the Hot 100 that featured both artists was “CN Tower” at No. 18, and “Die Trying” with Yebba rounded out the top 20.

Time will tell whether the duo shares any music videos or supplemental content. Still, fans know that the five-time Grammy winner is already looking ahead toward his next solo album. “Eventually, when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all,” he stated during a stop of his Anita Max Win Tour in Australia. “When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album — a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear.”

It’s unclear whether that will also come in 2025, but it is not unprecedented for the father of one to drop multiple projects in one year.

In 2022, Drake released his surprise house album Honestly, Nevermind in June and Her Loss with 21 Savage in November. Three years prior, he re-released his seminal mixtape So Far Gone in February 2019 and then compiled some of his popular “loosies” for Care Package in August. He first explored sharing multiple projects in 2015, surprising the world with If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late in February before doubling back with What A Time To Be Alive alongside Future in September.
