While hybrid beds are on the pricier end because of their more complicated build compared to even the best memory foam mattresses, you can often get generous discounts. This is true for the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid which originally falls into an upper to mid price bracket with the total value of a queen size calculated at $1,664, but with the evergreen 50% off DreamCloud mattress sale, it drops to $665.

You can also find regular mattress sales at Leesa, although the discounts may not be as generous as the DreamCloud. While the Leesa Sapira Hybrid also falls into the premium price category with the MSRP of a queen being $1,999, there is currently a 20% discount bringing the price down to $1,599. While both are some of the best hybrid mattresses you can get, there are distinct differences in the materials and construction of the DreamCloud and Leesa Hybrid.

The DreamCloud is a 12" tall mattress, coming with a soft-to-touch moisture wicking cashmere blend cover, followed by a pressure relieving and contouring gel memory foam layer designed to regulate temperature and contour to the body and then a layer of quilted support foam.

Next is a layer of therapeutic gel memory foam that is designed to adapt to different sleeping positions and provide support, followed by another layer of gel transitional foam.

Then there is a layer of ActivEdge individually encased coils that respond to movement, isolation motion and providing excellent edge support. All foams used are high-quality Certi-Pur certified meeting certain minimum health and environmental standards and the production process itself is climate-neutral.

The Leesa Hybrid on the other hand, is a 6-layer bed with a soft and breathable cover made from ultra-fine viscose and plant-based rayon. This is followed by a 1.5" 3-pound contouring comfort foam layer with air channels to prevent overheating and a 4-pound memory foam recovery layer offering additional contouring and pressure relief.

A 1-inch transition foam layer then acts as a buffer between the foam layers and the responsive support layer of 1,000 pocket springs which works to minimize motion transfer contributing to Leesa's top rated motion isolation and edge support, making it an ideal choice for couples. Both mattresses are designed in a very similar way with both of them making this year's best mattress in a box guide, so let's look at how the feel of them differs.

DreamCloud vs Leesa Sapira Hybrid: Comfort and Support

• We rated the Leesa Sapira a 6 out of 10 for firmness
• We rated the DreamCloud an 8 out of 10 for firmness
• The DreamCloud suits stomach and back sleepers and the Leesa suits side sleepers

While DreamCloud rates the DreamCloud hybrid mattress as a medium-firm mattress at 6.5/10, our panel of testers for the DreamCloud mattress review found it felt a lot firmer, rating it an 8. Despite this, the mattress provides a fantastic balance of contouring and support for all sleepers.

While initially the side sleepers on our testing panel thought it felt too firm, after a few nights it softened up and felt very comfortable. Similarly our back sleepers found great relief, and even our stomach sleepers felt like their spines were aligned and well supported.

This isn't a mattress you'll sink into, so if you're looking for softer feel the Sapira might be more suited to you. More on that in a minute. Instead, you'll sleep on top of the DreamCloud mattress, rather than in it. This means it's much easier for sleepers to regulate their temperature, and combined with the open hybrid structure and gel foam, this mattress sleeps cool.

As for couples, you can expect excellent edge support, we rated it 4.5 out of 5, thanks to the ActivEdge pocket springs. This means it'll feel like there's more space as you'll be able to use the full surface of the mattress. Similarly, it performed very well during our motion isolation tests, meaning couples on different schedules are unlikely to wake each other.

The Leesa, similarly is a medium to medium-firm mattress and our testing panel for the Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress review found it was softer than the DreamCloud, rating it at a 6 out of 10. While it is more contouring than the DreamCloud, you still won't sink into this mattress a lot like you might with an all-foam mattress. Instead, side sleepers will feel the perfect level of pressure relief around the hips, shoulders and knees.

Our testing panel thought it wasn't firm enough to support stomach sleeping or heavier weight sleepers (check out our guide to the best mattresses for heavy people to find the right choice), but average to lighter weight back sleepers will feel supported enough.

Compared to the DreamCloud, the Leesa did not fare well on temperature regulation as our reviewer found it wasn't cooling enough for those prone to sleep hot. The edge support too was also not perfect considering it comes with reinforced perimeter in the coil layer earning only a 3.5 on 5 in our review. However, it did score an impressive 5/5 for motion isolation, beating DreamCloud's 4.5/5.
