The Philadelphia Eagles are running low on centers. The team began the day with Cam Jurgens initially being ruled out, but being made active as an emergency option.

Jurgens did not start the day, but he has been called on to step in for Dickerson. The issue is Jurgens is dealing with a back injury, hence the confusion about his playing at all.

Now, Dickerson is questionable to return after suffering a knee injury. He was shown with a brace on his knee, and it appears that the knee did not hold up.

During the telecast, it was revealed that Jurgens was being sent in to replace Dickerson due to his knee. Hopefully, Jurgen's back will hold up, as he is also significantly hurt, but will be attempting to play through it like Dickerson did for the first half.

What makes this whole situation odd is that it was initially reported that Jurgens was going to be ruled out. However, shortly after these reports emerged, it was revealed that he was made active.

NFL insider Mike Garofolo indicated that Jurgens would be more of an emergency backup option if Dickerson was injured. That appeared to be the case, and the hurt center has now entered the game.

Jurgens has been dealing with a back injury, and it was believed that the injury was going to keep him ruled out of the game. He will now test the back in a game that would send the Eagles to the Super Bowl.

Playing through a significant injury like a back ailment is a risk. Should Jurgens injure his back even more, he would presumably miss the Super Bowl, assuming the Eagles make it past the Commanders.

At the time of this writing, the Eagles are leading the way with a 27-15 score. There is still plenty of game left to play, meaning that Jurgens is going to get far more snaps with more than a quarter left to play.

The Eagles are likely hoping that Jurgens can stick it out for the rest of the game, as Dickerson's knee injury sounds serious enough that he won't be taking the field again.

Dickerson was shown with a heavy knee brace and limping following his first-half performance.
