TEEN EastEnders star Ellie Dadd was bombarded with hundreds of social media messages by a stalker.
The 19-year-old, who plays Amy Mitchell, was targeted by Cora Upple, 21, for seven months last year, court records show.
The stalker’s campaign “amounted to harassment” and Ellie was forced to take out a restraining order.
Medway magistrates’ court heard Upple, of Rainham, Kent, used social media to “post stories and posts tagging the victim in them, and about the victim”.
She admitted the offence last August and was remanded in custody until her sentencing before Christmas.
She also admitted violating a previous stalking prevention order issued in October 2023.
A judge at Maidstone crown court spared Upple from immediate prison time, suspending her nine-month jail term for 15 months. She is also subject to a five-year stalking prevention order.
A source said: “This raises concerns for all celebrities as to whether they are protected from people who don’t understand the impact of stalking.”
Ellie joined the soap in 2022. She previously had roles in West End hit Matilda and BBC drama Silent Witness.
Her case is the latest in a string of celebrity stalkings, including pop star Cheryl Tweedy and Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas.
