In gothic literature, vampires are often depicted as devilish monsters who lurk on unsuspecting prey in the shadows. But during the Berlin premiere of Robert Eggers’ new horror film Nosferatu, Emma Corrin is drawing the creature into the light with their wheelhouse of sartorial tricks.

Always one to embrace a character on the red carpet, Corrin and their stylist Harry Lambert began the movie’s press tour in stride by sinking their teeth into a fresh-off-the-runway dress by Saint Laurent. Rather than looking to the French maison’s sharp tailoring, as they had earlier in the year in a draped satin garter dress for an event in the German capital for their recent Marvel blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, Corrin let their sensuality come to play.

The piece featured a central round-neck lace mini in a wasabi hue decorated with a shiny floral motif. Toying with proportion and layering, the style also boasted contrasting panels like a blood-red trim and a high collar in a striking blue cobalt. However, it was the frills that adorned their neck and wrists that proved to be the most evocative.

With Nosferatu taking place in a folklorish village during the 18th Century, Corrin channelled the drama of the period through Victorian ruffles. Though it might’ve felt pertinent for this event, on the Spring/Summer 2025 runway Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello suggested these conflicting shapes and colours were to represent “multiple moods to reflect the complex woman”.

The 28-year-old left the high-octane tinseled coat the look was styled with on the runway behind for the outing, unlike Chloë Sevigny who wore a similar piece to the 2024  LACMA Art+Film Gala, but definitely delivered on Vaccarello’s ambition to impart an extravagance “at night in flashy brocade jackets with big jewelled buttons and lace-trimmed miniskirts”. After all, vampires work best after dark.

Corrin plays Anna Harding in the impending reimagining of the 1922 German Expressionist film. Their character is best friends with Lily-Rose Depp’s haunted lead, Ellen Hunter, who becomes the subject of the titular villain’s obsession and infatuation. In the film, Corrin encounters one specifically disgusting scene in which she has 30 live rats crawl over their bare chest.

“They’re incontinent or defecating and urinating on Emma take, after take, after take. That’s difficult,” the director told Deadline. No wonder she polished up for the occasion. Watch the terrifying trailer, below.
