English rapper Example welcomes first child with new girlfriend after split from Erin McNaught

English rapper Example has started the new year with a major family update.

The musician, whose real name is Elliot John Gleave, has welcomed his first child with girlfriend Daisy Cox, his third child, on New Year's Day.

Example, 42, announced the exciting news on social media with photos of his newborn son.

"Lucas Winter Cox Gleave," he revealed his son's name in a joint Instagram post with Cox, confirming they used both their names for their baby's surname.

Not long after the birth and the rapper shared he has already come up with some cute nicknames for his son, including "Lukey Baby" and "Gorge Lucas".

One of the black and white photos was an adorable close-up of the newborn asleep, wrapped in a blanket with a beanie on his head.

In another picture, the baby's tiny little hand was holding a much bigger finger.

"Arrived four weeks ahead of schedule and he's absolutely perfect," Example wrote.

"Best NYD present ever. And no one gonna forget his birthday ever."

The rapper included a heartwarming photo of him in scrubs, kissing his girlfriend on the forehead as she held their son on his chest, shortly after the premature birth.

The rapper signed off: "Mummy and baby doing great."

The post was inundated with messages of congratulations to the pair.

Model Roxy Horner, who is engaged to comedian Jack Whitehall, wrote: "Massive congratulations guys what an incredible way to start out the year".

"Ahh beautiful…congrats bro❤️❤️❤️" English DJ Andy C, whose full name is Andrew Michael Clarke, commented.

This is the third child for Example. The rapper already shares sons Evander Maxwell Gleave, 10, and Ennio Stanley Gleave, seven, with his ex-wife Erin McNaught.

The 42-year-old was previously married to Australian model and actress McNaught for nearly a decade after tying the knot in 2013.

They announced their split after 11 years together in a joint statement in October 2022.

In March 2023, Example confirmed he was dating British art curator Daisy Cox.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together in September 2024.

"We can't wait to meet you 👶🏼🤍," Cox captioned a photo of her and Example on the beach, showing off her noticeable baby bump.

McNaught has since welcomed a child with her new partner, Stasi 'Stace Cadet' Kotaras in October 2024.

A month after announcing her split from Example, the Aussie model revealed in an Instagram post they still 'see each other almost every day".

"With the kids. Without the kids. We are best mates. We just couldn't live together any longer," she explained.

"Divorce doesn't have to be full of animosity, negativity and jealousy… start by playing Tray Tennis together and take it from there 😉😘".
