Fair City star Liam Carney will spend Christmas in Wexford with three of his grown-up children this year as he escapes the drama of Carrigstown.
But his fiancée will go back to the UK to be with her family for the festive season.
The actor, who plays Con Rafferty, never makes any New Year's resolutions. However, he thinks that his onscreen son could do with a bit of help.

Liam said: "I'll come down here to Wexford, and my lads and daughter will join me, I think - I hope - for half of the day anyway."
He told the RTÉ Guide: "I make a resolution every year, and it's always to not make any resolutions, so I won't be doing resolutions.
"I'll do whatever I have time to do. I have loads of things I'd like to do, but having time to do them is what it's about."
There has been a lot of drama surrounding the Rafferty family since Liam joined the RTÉ soap opera in 2022, one year after Matthew O'Brien, who plays James Rafferty, arrived in Carrigstown.
He said: "James, his son, amazes me every day, he just gets worse and worse!
"And then trying to juggle his ex-wife on the scene. "
The former Glenroe star added: "I don't know if they're the worst family, but they could certainly do with a little bit of counselling. James could anyway - I think Con is okay but James needs a counsellor."
Things took a turn during the summer when Con Rafferty slept with his ex-wife, James' mother, Emma, played by Tara Flynn. They were caught in bed together on the day of James' wedding to Hayley and she has been around ever since.
Lian said: "I think its strange because they ended up in bed at James and Hayley's wedding, which surprised me more than anyone. I think Con and Emma get on well, that's obvious.
"I think they get on much better now that they're divorced, probably better than they ever did when they were together, but I don't know.
"That's my speculation. But I think maybe he's happy that she's around because she can take a little bit of James' slack. But then again, I think he also blames her for the way James is."
