Fearne Cotton to undergo surgery to remove benign tumours
Fearne Cotton has reached out to her fans with an update post-surgery for the removal of two tumours.
The 43-year-old broadcaster underwent a procedure on Monday to excise benign growths in her jaw, a revelation that comes shortly after Davina McCall disclosed her own health concerns.
Taking to Instagram, Fearne expressed gratitude and relief to her followers: “Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages.”
She reserved special mention for her "bl**dy good mate" Davina in her surgery announcement earlier this week.
Davina herself had a six-hour surgery to extract a benign brain tumour recently, just weeks before Fearne's diagnosis.
In an Instagram video revealing her upcoming surgery, Fearne told her followers: “I've got a benign tumour just in my jaw here, below my ear, another little tiny one above it.
“I'm very grateful they're benign but they do need to come out because they're on a nerve."
Prior to the operation, Fearne stated: “So I'm gonna have that surgery, and then I'm gonna be resting to get better before Christmas.
“Not very good at resting, so wondering how that's gonna go. But I'm feeling okay about it. I'm going into the operation feeling good and well," according to the Mirror report.
Fearne Cotton has assured fans that her popular podcast, Happy Place, will continue without interruption.

The mother-of-two shared a heartfelt video on social media stating: “Hey gang. I'm going to be out of action for a bit due to a surgery. I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.
“Turns out it's a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland. I'm feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.”
Fearne went on to encourage her followers to get health checks, adding: “If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked.
“I'm so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become.”
Fearne continued: “It's obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine.
“I'm not only lucky she's a bl**dy good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff. Sending you all loads of love and I'll see you soon."
Davina McCall responded swiftly with a message of support, writing: “Sending you so much healing and love can't wait to give you a huge gentle cuddle.”
Zoe Ball, BBC Radio 2 presenter, also showed solidarity, commenting: "Oh darling girl. be brave as and know you'll be well looked after. all my love x.”
