Fearne Cotton has confirmed that she has split from her husband of 10 years, Jesse Wood, just days after undergoing surgery to have benign tumours removed from her jaw

Fearne Cotton has announced a split from husband Jesse Wood, just days after undergoing surgery to remove tumours.

The presenter took to Instagram Stories to share the news, writing: "It is with a heavy heart that | let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time."

Fearne and Jesse exchanged vows in a charming ceremony surrounded by loved ones in 2014.

The star recently admitted that the lockdown period had put a strain on their relationship. The couple share two children, Rex and Honey, while Jesse also has two older children, Arthur and Lola, from a previous relationship.

Earlier this month, the podcast host and TV presenter revealed she had a benign tumour in her jaw. In an Instagram video, she explained: "I've got a benign tumour just in my jaw here, below my ear, another little tiny one above it. I'm very grateful they're benign but they do need to come out because they're on a nerve."

Following her successful surgery last week, she updated her followers saying: "Operation went really well. Recovering and resting. Thanks so much for all the kind messages.", reports the Mirror.

However, she admitted to feeling "wiped out". The celebrity informed her followers that she was recuperating well from the surgery and was taking it easy.

She posted a photo of herself relaxing in pyjamas on her sofa, giving a thumbs up to the camera. "Resting at home. Feel pretty wiped out but on the mend.

"Professor O'Flynn did the neatest job and was simply amazing at making me feel calm about the whole thing. Any good TV suggestions, get them in," she added, revealing her plans to spend her recovery time binge-watching TV.

Fearne had previously discussed the challenges of marriage. She met Jesse - son of The Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood - in 2011 during a girls trip to Ibiza.

From that moment, they were inseparable. In a 2019 interview, Fearne confessed that "marriage takes work".
