The members of One Direction reunited for a heartbreaking final farewell.

Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan gathered at the funeral of their former bandmate, Liam Payne, on November 20, one month after his tragic passing in Argentina.

The private service took place at St. Mary’s Church in Amersham, northwest of London. The stone brick church was adorned with white roses and candle holders. Members of the public stood in respectful silence as mourners arrived.

Harry was the first of the former 1D members to be seen, stepping out of a dark vehicle and briefly glancing at the assembled media before entering the church. He was accompanied by TV host and actor James Corden.

Liam’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and his former partner, Cheryl Cole—mother to their 7-year-old son, Bear — were also present to pay their respects.

At 1 p.m. local time (8 a.m. ET), a horse-drawn carriage arrived, carrying Liam’s dark blue casket adorned with silver fittings. Floral tributes rested atop the white carriage: one reading “son” and the other “daddy.”

Simon Cowell, the music executive who brought One Direction together over a decade ago, was seen tearfully embracing Liam’s parents outside the church.

Liam’s tragic death occurred at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he fell from the third floor while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

In the wake of the devastating news, the members of One Direction shared personal tributes along with a collective statement, expressing their profound grief.

“We are completely devastated by the death of our former bandmate, who we called our ‘brother,’” Harry, Niall, Louis, and Zayn said in a joint message posted to the band’s Instagram. “The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you, Liam.”

Their statement concluded: “In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.”
