"If anyone saw me being wheeled out of the venue last night on a gurney and being put into an ambulance it's because I twisted, seriously twisted, my ankle stepping off stage," he said.

Healy panned the camera around to show his ankle sitting on an ice pack and elevated on a pile of pillows.

"As I was waving goodbye to everyone it sort of twisted around back to front. We thought it was broken, went to hospital, thankfully it's just a really really gnarly sprain," he added.

In the caption the band wrote that "the show must go on" letting fans know that their upcoming show in Salt Lake City would go ahead as planned.

Inside the biggest band feuds of all time

The singer went on to tell fans that he now has a "massive big space" shoe on his foot which they can "all laugh at" at the upcoming gig.

"We'll see you on the rest of the tour," Healy continued.

"I'm fine, I'm slightly dizzy just now because I'm on some painkillers but apart from that, it's all good."

Back in 2021 Healy was left unable to perform after an sausage dog attack left him unable to play the guitar.

He had come across a horror three-car crash near his home in the Hollywood Hills and saw the dog alone in the middle of the road.

Trying to save it to avoid the dog being hit by traffic, as Healy picked up the pet it bit into his left hand to escape.

He was left with a bloodied wound on his hand and was unable to play guitar while he gave it time to heal.
